PlayStation Home: Fat Princess Space

With tomorrows release of Fat Princess rapidly coming, why not hype Sony’s new downloadable game with some new screenshots of the PlayStation Home space? The space looks interesting, but does not look to offer much to do at all. However, there is a question system which looks like a little trivia quiz. Any prizes thrown in?

Fat Princess places the player on a team of up to 16 soldiers fighting for their beloved Princess whom is captured and being held by the opposing team in their castle. Of course, if this gameplay doesn’t sound appealing to the player, Fat Princess offers the standard team-deathmatch mode.

When playing Princess Mode, players have to rescue their teams captured Princess in their opponents castle. Cake is grown outside the castle, which players can pick up and force-feed the opposing Princess in order to make her heavier, resulting in a slower return to the rescuers castle.

PlayStation 3 owners can purchase Fat Princess on the PlayStation Network store for $14.99 this coming Thursday, July 30.

[blip.tv ?posts_id=2414619&dest=-1]

Splinter Cell: Conviction is the newest addition to the Splinter Cell series by Ubisoft. At this week’s San Diego Comic-Con, Ubisoft unveiled a new trailer which showcases the rather violent gameplay that players can engage in.

“Splinter Cell: Conviction sees protagonist Sam Fisher walking out on Third Echelon, despite threats from his superiors. He is now investigating the death of his daughter, Sarah Fisher, who was killed in a drunk driving accident during the events of Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Sam soon discovers that his daughter’s death was no accident, and must now uncover why his daughter was murdered and what connections it has to Third Echelon, which has become bogged down with red tape to the point of ineffectiveness and corruption.”

Splinter Cell: Conviction is set to release this coming October for the Xbox 360 and PC.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – New Gold Rush Co-Op Mode and Gameplay Trailer

[blip.tv ?posts_id=2414144&dest=-1]

In the video, originally posted on The PlayStation Blog, the Naughty Dog representative shows himself playing Gold Rush, which is being shown at the San Diego Comic-Con for the first time anywhere. In Gold Rush, the object is to grab the little treasure statue in the map and deliver it to the treasure chest. Sounds easy right? Well only if you can beat the enemies trying to impede your progress of delivering the statue that is.

The player grabs the statue with one hand, while using a pistol with the other. In the video, the player is swarmed by enemies and an enemy helicopter trying to get the treasure back. The representative then gets into a fight and signals for help using his voice, showing that it is hard to complete the delivery without the use of teamwork. That is the object of Co-Op right?

When the player carrying the gold gets shot by enemies, he drops the gold in place of where he was shot. Players go down and are forced to wait for revival from a teammate if their health goes all the way down. Once the representative reaches the treasure site, another player is forced to throw the gold onto the building above, while the representative climbs up to receive it since the treasure chest is located on top. You would think the round would be over when the gold touches the chest, but players must kill the “leftover” enemies who were not killed in the delivery process.

Gold Rush features an unspecified amount of rounds, in which when the player progress through each one, the gold location and difficulty differs. When player goes down, they are only out for the current round, and will rejoin teammates in the next round as long as there is one.

Exclusive to the San Diego Comic-Con, interested gamers can play Gold Rush and pick up a voucher for a new skin in the Uncharted 2 multiplayer mode, which will be based on the original Uncharted character Navarro. So if you are in the area, make sure you stop in to play!

Army of Two: The 40th Day San Diego Comic-Con Trailer

[blip.tv ?posts_id=2413902&dest=-1]

Army of Two: The 40th Day, an upcoming shooter from Electronic Arts, was shown at the San Diego Comic-Con this week. It appears that to help promote their upcoming game and Comic-Con booth, EA has decided to release a new trailer for Army of Two: The 40th Day.

The 40th Day is a sequel to the original Army of Two, and takes place in a post-destructed Shanghai. Interaction with your single player or co-op teammate has improved in this sequel, allowing the player(s) to fake surrender (to outflank the enemy), automatic covering, and human shields. Can you say meat shield? The 40th Day also gives the player more abilities such as picking up a max of four weapons and storing them in your arsenal, more control over your teammate, and upgrading your weapons with new add-ons and options.

Army of Two: The 40th Day hits store shelves in late 2009 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable.
